    Platform
    Arcade
As with many other ball-and-paddle games (including Namco's own Gee Bee trilogy), the player must take control of a paddle at the bottom of the screen, and move it left and right to deflect a ball into the formation of bricks above it (and if you can keep that ball in play for a preset period of time, it will split into three balls) - certain bricks will also leave powerups when destroyed that will increase the size of the paddle, generate several extra balls in force-field when the initial ball goes into it and even create a line below the paddle that will prevent the balls from going out of play when collected. The seventh, fourteenth, twenty-first and twenty-eighth rounds are also "bonus rounds", where you have to destroy all the bricks in the formation within a preset time limit (unless all your balls go out of play); the thirty-third and final round is also a "boss round", where you are up against "Burida" (who is protected by a metal wall with a vulnerable spot on its top side, but does not attack by spitting

    Platform
    Arcade
Frogs is a single-player action / platform arcade game released by Sega-Gremlin in 1978. It is the first video game with a jumping character (predating Donkey Kong by 3 years), which by some definitions could make it the first platform game. The player controls a frog on lily pads and attempts to catch (with the frog's tongue and while jumping) various insects (butterflies and dragonflies) worth different amounts of points in a set amount of time. Frogs is one of the first arcade games to include a static background as part of the arcade cabinet.[citation needed] The game’s graphics are "projected" by laying the monitor flat on its back and reflecting the computer-generated graphics of the frogs and flies toward the player via a mirror at a 45-degree angle. (The game’s graphics were actually generated and shown backward, so the mirror reflection would show letters and numbers properly.)

    1995

    Platform
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Skunny is a 32-bit DOS platform game featuring the anthropomorphic squirrel from six previous Copysoft games. Skunny apparently found a map on one of his recent adventures and now must seek out treasure in six locations around the world. In addition to the health bar, Skunny now has a time meter, though how much time is actually left is unclear. Skunny must collect 100 keys in each level in order to go through the exit, and also gets an extra life when he collects 100 coins. Skunny can still jump on bad guys and be killed instantly by spikes, but most of the gameplay seems to revolve around jumping into cannon-like barrels and timing when to shoot out of them. There are 6 worlds in this game, with only the first world playable in the shareware version.
