star 7.4F1 Race is a racing video game released in 1984 for the Family Computer in Japan. A version was released in 1990 for the Game Boy in Japan and in 1991 in Europe and North America, which included the Four Player Adapter for four player gameplay. The game features racing in one of two Formula One cars around a variety of tracks near world capitals and landmarks. In the Family Computer version of the game, the cars come in three colors: red, light orange, and dark blue. Gameplay is similar to that of Namco's Pole Position. Finishing in first, second, or third results in a podium finish; players must win on each track to advance to the next. Vehicles in the game have a generic two-speed manual transmission governing their speed (with a "LOW" setting and a "HI" setting). There are ten tracks in the race; the game repeats itself after the conclusion of the tenth circuit. The title screen credits Tamiya, a Japanese toy manufacturer that focuses on model kits and RC vehicles, and their logo frequently appears in-game. The player and the CPU opponents take turns moving over a board and acquiring money and parts for their RC car. Money collected can also be spent on new parts. The player's goal is to topple the opponents king. A player controls a small army (with units like orcman, karate man, warrior etc) on a small chess board. If two pieces meet on the same square, they fight on special screen with a playing-card roulette. Depending on the cards that each unit gets they will do damage to an opponent. Different units have different health points and also different cards, for example, some units have more propensity to getting the instantly killing joker card. Some units are able to cast attack or defense spells. When these pieces move to an empty square on the map a spell window will open. A platformer in which the player has to guide the characters from the film with each of them having their own abilities. The plot follows that of the 1939 movie. Many of the graphics are ripped from numerous other games. The title screen bears a strong resemblance to Castle of Dragon's intro. Barza from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger is used in the cutscenes, the "To Green Castle" signs are taken from Mickey Mousecapade, the "Good luck!" message in the opening story being taken from Crossfire, the windows in the first level are likely re-edits of those from Hummer Team's Aladdin pirate, and Willy from Rockin' Kats shows up several times in the ending sequence. As well as this, the mushroom enemy is taken from Don Doko Don 2 and the small one-eyed green blobs that the frog spits at you are the aliens from one of the bosses in Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers for NES, while one more enemy is from Little Samson.
