On January 18, 2018 the map saw the addition of 10 new POIs, including locations like Tilted Towers, Shifty Shafts and Snobby Shores. Season 2 also introduced a new feature to replace Season 1's Season Shop: The Battle Pass.
The storyline began around this season with players spotting a comet (later revealed to be a meteor) in the sky. Many players speculated that the meteor would hit and destroy Tilted Towers, and it did, destroying one of the central buildings by a small meteor. As Season 4 begins, a big meteor got rid of Dusty Depot and turning it into Dusty Divot.
The game's user base increased around this season.

The Chronicles Pack DLC is the last Metro DLC pack said to 'include new, original single player gameplay that expands on Metro: Last Light's universe and story'. The player will play three levels as Khan, Pavel and Anna, in their respective levels.
The Developer Pack is a DLC pack that was billed as giving 'creative players some interesting tools with which to explore the Metro', prior to its release. The main feature includes a Shooting Gallery, a Metro Museum and an AI Arena, as well as a new singleplayer mission - Spider Lair - containing many Spiderbugs.
The Tower Pack DLC is the second DLC pack for Metro: Last Light and was released on September 3rd on Xbox 360 and Steam, and on September 4th on PSN. It was billed as a "unique solo challenge to Metro veterans" before its release.
