Ezekiel is a nine-map Doom II episode WAD for limit-removing source ports created by various mappers, led by Jon Vail (40oz). The first episode is based around fast-paced combat and 1999-style levels with a similar aesthetic to Hell Revealed 2 and Thy Flesh Consumed. Episode 2 features a swampy dark green and grey Heretic and Hexen styled aesthetic, with large layouts and large monster quantities. The unfinished third episode was meant to feature suspenseful exploratory levels with jump scares and high contrast lighting, in a theme featuring lots of cement, charred rock and vine textures.
20 shortish levels split into three episodes: Rear Entry, Knee Deep in the Sludge and Into the Blood. "The Source" - That's what they call it. The phrase "exquisite corpse" originates from a surrealist game in which sentences were created by a group of people, each person not knowing what the previous words were. In this WAD, each of the 12 authors was given a block of space 1024x1024 units big and asked to create a part of a larger level. However, all they were given to guide them were small slivers of the previously created pieces adjacent to theirs.
This map is different from most other maps in that the player progresses differently through the map depending on the skill level. Each skill level "starts" the map at a different location, and some of the traps are skill-level specific. Additionally, the keys and weapons are at different locations for the different skill levels, and there are some areas that are only accessible to specific skill levels.
