Released a few years after its original creation, John Carmack's earliest written game is a fantasy RPG somewhat inspired by the early Ultima games. The story takes you to the peaceful town of Jaterus, about to become much less peaceful thanks to one Greymere. This evil archmage has taken up residence in a three-level dungeon, conveniently located just outside the city walls. More alarmingly, he has constructed the Shadowforge - a potent magical artifact that has enhanced both his power and ambition for conquest; Jaterus is first on his list. Your job is to quash his aspirations by finding and destroying the device.
The town of Jaterus is your base of operations, its main attractions being the weapon and armor shops, the inn (where you can recuperate after a sojourn to the dungeon), the temple (where health potions are sold), and the tavern (which, besides refreshments, offers conversation - some of it helpful). The various random NPCs do not communicate, though.
The dungeon is populated by Greymere's minions; so

The CD version of the game features cutscenes taken from the animated Lord of the Rings movie by Ralph Bakshi.
Shuffle Pix is a sliding puzzle game without variations to the known playing principle. The playfield is a 5x5 grid and on each tile except one is a part of a scrambled picture. The player's job is to slide the tiles in the correct order within a time limit by using the empty tile as buffer. There are three playing modes: one with complete pictures like a clock, one with abstract colour combinations and a training mode. The desired end result is shown besides the playing grid and there are small animations to see after beating a level.
The Pro Yakyuu is a baseball game that allows players to compete in Japan's professional baseball league, with licensed team and player names. Versus mode allows competition between two players; in a friendly game, the computer AI chooses an opponent for the team selected by the player; the "Open" mode is a tournament in which players can assign controllable teams to themselves and to the AI. The game itself can be set on "Action", "Simulation", or "Auto" mode, with varying degrees of realism. Pitchers and batters are controlled from a third-person view, while baserunning is viewed from an overhead perspective.

The Second World is a turn-based strategy game set in a science-fiction scenario. The play world is divided into 25 countries and four opponents (optionally all of them can be controlled by humans) want to become the leading force. This is either achieved by gaining control over 15 countries (either by buying them or with force), driving all competition out of the business or getting a certain amount of victory points with economic or belligerent achievements.
Gameplay focuses on economical management and can be seen as expanded Kaiser. During each round (which represents three months), the player can adjust the setting screws of the countries, e.g by hiring agents (can be sent on special missions like assassinating an opponent), stock dealing, trading produced goods, setting the tax or starting a war. Especially important is constructing buildings like hospitals or plants. All those factors determine the statistics of the country, e.g. productivity, prosperity or the death rate. A killed ruler will be replaced by
