After a bright flash of lightning, Mario finds himself in a strange place. He assumes Bowser caused this and is now going to try and find out where he is and how to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. This hack has 51 exits.

He doesn't want to be there, though, so after getting a helpful tip from a bald olding man, he sets out to collect the 12 Teleportation Gems, so he can get home to his beloved Fruitbowl City.

After having taken the wrong pipe mario finds himself in a strange place yet again... the illusionary shattered plains. I suppose defeating bowser would be the obvious thing to do in this situation.

Alyssa's Unlikely Trap is a darker, alternate-timeline retake on the original SMW. You can expect it to vaguely retain the original SMW locations and gameplay, but... corrupted, in many ways. (Just who is this mysterious Alyssa the Boo? Tee hee hee...)
While there is a bit more storyline than your average Mario game, this is still primarily a level design hack.
Most SMW hacks are designed to feel like new games that just happen to be based off of SMW. This hack is just the opposite.
Zeldara's Glitch City is intended to be a very strange, unconventional, and otherwise confusingly random hack, that deliberately exploits unusual aspects of the SMW engine (as well as the fact that most SMW hack players are quite familiar with the original SMW's levels) to its advantage. (It also intends to showcase various little-used edits that are possible in SMW hacks.)
Finally, after 10 years of working on this project, exit1337 is able to present the 3rd (and last) demo of The artifacts of marvelous birds - or short: Taomb
Expect a mysterious adventure through tropical islands, dubious fields, haunted forests and icy areas.
Please keep in mind that the first two worlds are really old, though some parts of levels have been revamped. The great quality of this hack definitely lies within later worlds, so don't quit too soon!
This hack starts out really easy, but gets harder and harder as you progress. World 4 and 5 do get challenging.
This hack was dedicated to a Twitch streamer known as Glitchcat7. It's been a colossal collaborative effort from the members of his community, to create one awesome fun game starring his cat, Mallow! And, to accompany him on his journey should you choose 2 player mode, a purple feline known as Zs (based off one of his emotes) comes along for the ride.
Mallow the Cat just wants salmon, unfortunately there is no salmon at home, so he ventures out to go find the salmon! There's plenty of secrets and challenges, plenty of custom ASM, yet it keeps a homage to the classic Mario vibe.
We hope you enjoy the hack as much as we enjoyed making it!
Gameplay style is an unaudited presentation of Mario assessing & orienting 'framework gameplay' with dynamic simplicity.
This hack has 77 exits and was made by BabyCan.
This romhack was created to test the player’s skill, patience and reflexes. It presents challenges difficult enough that a standard player may struggle, but indicators throughout are in place to help guide you to the goal. It's difficulty is between kaizo beginner-intermediate and players can expect to beat it within 1-4 hours depending on skillset.
This hack makes use of some more complicated tech that may be unfamiliar to the casual player- blue coins are in place to indicate spin jumps and green coins indicate item throws (usually shells). Color palettes and graphic choices were carefully picked to match the setting and create a tone for each level. Every level’s soundtrack was also carefully selected in an effort to create a satisfying gameplay loop as the player grinds each of the 28 courses. The map is comprised of several different zones strung together to feel like a complete world. Levels do not have a difficulty curve as there are plenty of ‘palette cleansers’ throughout. This design choice was d
This hack is Green Jerry’s first finished and released Kaizo hack.
It features 7 levels, each one with their own theme, and has only 1 route, so there are no secret exits.
Super Mario World Redone is a hack that aims to create much nicer visuals for the original Super Mario World, while adding some new features, secrets and an all new encore mode!
The game also includes new custom music and lots of bugfixes for the original game.
As a bonus, there are four new levels for you to find, and they are very well hidden! Can you find them?
And in this version you spend the entire game with Luigi!
