Enemies enter the screen either from left, right, top or bottom of the screen. The screen is divided into nine parts (one part for each button of the phone). Press the appropriate button to shoot the target inside that part of the screen. Beware: some enemies require more than a simple shot. Bonuses are falling from the sky (can be points, grenades or life). Pick them up to survive. You can also enter a shop where you can buy special weapons that will allow you to kill enemies faster.

Shanghai Dragon is a 3D rail shooter, similar to The House of the Dead or Virtua Cop. The action takes place in 1937 and the player takes the role of Jackie Hua.
