This entry in the Klonoa series sees the floppy-eared hero training to become a true hero in a new RPG system.
Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal is a spin-off of the Klonoa franchise, released only in Japan on December 13, 2002. Klonoa Heroes was developed by Namco and published by Namco for the Game Boy Advance. Klonoa Heroes is a twist on the traditional Klonoa games, putting Klonoa in a more action role playing game along the lines of Legend of Zelda or Beyond Oasis. The game does have voice acting, as well. Kumiko Watanabe plays Klonoa, Takahiro Sakurai plays Guntz, Shouzou Iizuke plays Pango, and Yutaka Shimaka plays Garlen.
Klonoa Heroes' gameplay is very similar to the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda. Players can control one of three characters (Klonoa, Guntz, and Pango) in a top-down perspective, hitting enemies with various attacks (Klonoa with the Wind Ring seen in the platforming games, albeit with a few differences). Darius R is a shoot em up video game released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance only in Japan. This game is a remixed version of Darius, which reuses assets from the original game.
Due to the small resolution of the GBA, and since the game never scales the large Arcade sprites, the camera follows the the player up and down to compensate. While the first stage is more or less based on the first stage from the original game, the remaining stages are all exclusive to this title, featuring unique background graphics and remixed tracks from previous titles in the series. Stages can be replayed once they are beaten in the regular Arcade Mode.
Revenge of Monkey Fist is a sidescrolling platformer where players take control of Kim Possible. Kim has an assortment of punches, kicks and acrobatic moves that she can use to dispatch enemies. Worms Blast is a puzzle game similar in concept to Puzzle Bobble, with several important distinctions and gameplay features taken from Worms games. Instead of releasing and matching bubbles, the player has to color blocks on a hexagonal grid. Unlike most Bust-A-Move variants, the player character can move right and left, sailing in a boat. Various weapons, such as bazooka, grenades, dynamite, and others, can be used to fire at the blocks, coloring them on impact. Like in the main, artillery-based Worms games, holding down the fire button increases the power of the weapon, affecting the distance it travels.
