Sonic games are notoriously hard to hack, and with not so great results. So what's better than creating a Sonic hack? Creating a Sonic hack out of Super Mario World... With some additional kaizo.
A moderately hard hack of Super Mario World. Luminescent is meant to be a fun challenge for the kaizo enthusiast who seeks to delve into tougher territory, while still being firmly intermediate in nature. It is ASM heavy, and features a plethora of custom stuff while keeping the familiar aesthetics and playability of the original game.
The purpose of this hack was to take the same approach Nintendo took with Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. Numerous Zelda games have a second quest in one form or another, and the author felt that A Link to the Past deserved a similar treatment. The dungeons have detours, rearranged items, tougher enemies, and an intermediate difficulty level. However, an optional “Double Heart Damage” patch is included for those looking for a greater challenge.
Nidoking wants to conquer the world, but to do so he must kidnap Shizuka! Our hero, Lakitu, ventures to defeat the Drill PokeMon. Lakitu's Great Adventure is a fairly long hack, however it doesn't seem to be easy. They are 24 super creative levels themed around something imaginative. Music, sprites, and even some enemies have been changed.
This hack started as a small collab lead to be mostly vanilla with modern ASM technologies, very inspired by the original VIPs. It later expanded to much larger proportions. Some levels still retain the original feel, while many others have embraced more chocolate aspects.
Features:
-Intricate dragon coin reward system
-Dragon coins save upon collection
-Hint movies for more cryptic secrets
-Overworld pause menu with level information
-Multiple checkpoints for longer levels
-Retry system for the harder levels

Dr. Bloo is hiding in his castle and it's up to Blob to find his way through the obstacles thrown at him.
Kamek’s Island is a traditional Choco-Nilla hack of Super Mario World developed in 2013. The hack features 7 themed worlds with a total of 70 levels and 82 exits. Difficulty is comparable to official Mario games (barring Lost Levels).
What happens when five fans of Super Mario World and Touhou Project come together to make a hack? Super Mario World with Touhou elements mixed in, of course! Aside from the usual platforming and exploration of strange lands, Mario now has to focus and dodge bullets fired by familiar foes as the Mushroom Kingdom gets dragged into a new incident.
An intermediate Kaizo Rom Hack of Super Mario World.
The Hack Features :
- Kind of Vanilla Levels Design
- Fast Retry System
- No Overworld
- No Wall Jump
- No Rope Glitch
- No Double Switch Hit
- Custom Sprites
- Custom Musics

This is the long-awaited sequel to JUMP. Started as a smaller collab inspired by the VIPs, it quickly spiralled out of control and became a true sequel. JUMP½ features even more of the wacky design and creativity JUMP is known for, on top of several new features and a significantly less brutal difficulty curve.
Jump's storehouses and dragon coin reward system return, along with the level info menu, hint movies, and a retry system for the hardest levels. This is a complete hack of Final Fantasy 4 (2 US) for SNES which shows off many of the features of the hacking utility, FF4kster. There are a few assembly hacks which cannot be achieved within the editor alone, but they are few in number and mostly for cosmetic purposes.
It may seem at first that the changes are limited to gameplay and the plot is unchanged, but don’t worry, there is a point in the plot after which it branches from the original and begins an entirely new chain of events.
