Raiden Fighters 2 takes place four years after the events of the first game. In the aftermath, a few surviving guerrilla groups gather under a dictator. Together, this rogue group forms a new nation and launches a salvo of attacks on the protagonist fighting forces. In response to these surprise attacks, the government recalls the previous troops into action once again, outfitted with retooled ordinances.
This game is a vertical danmaku shooting game, where two characters engage in danmaku gameplay within individual and separate play areas (aka. split-screen). Upon meeting certain conditions, players are able to unleash a variety of character-specific Spell Attacks upon their opponents in an attempt to whittle down their remaining health points.
In Story Mode, the player will face nine opponents, each more capable than the previous. Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream also features a Match Play Mode where the player may face off against AI opponents or compete against other players, as well as watch AI vs. AI matches.
Elemental Gearbolt is your typical "save the world from the evil lunatic who wishes to destroy all of mankind for his own tyrannical reasons" story. In this case, a power hungry prince is plotting this scenario by using the Neural Network Computer, which happens to keep the world in balance. He wishes to destroy this machine, which feeds on volunteers, or Elementals. Once you die, your soul is fed to this machine which makes you an Elemental. Such is the case with the two sisters' Nell and Seana. But what the prince did not know is that he caused their death and now the two Elementals are out for his blood and to save all of mankind.
Total conversion featuring "18 new levels, 112 new models, 100's of new sounds, over 400 new textures, max size progs.dat", and other custom stuff - pretty much everything replaced.
The new textures, enemies, and sounds are very strange. This is only for hardcore people or those who want to try something radically different.
Cassandra Calamity (also known as Mexx10) is the last map pack of Marcus Dromowicz (mexx), of early Quake fame. It is the second-largest mexx map, with two large, detailed base levels with a story, some new textures, skins and sounds, and custom cyborg enforcers, along with a few other additions. The author encouraged co-op play.
The map was one-of-a-kind for its custom enemies and the presence of a story, as well as being a comparatively large map pack at its time (3420kb).
Quake II is a first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Activision. It is not a direct sequel to Quake, id decided to revert to an existing trademark when they were unable to agree on a new name that did not violate another company's trademark.
In BEAST WARS you travel along the planet's surface and explore many areas, looking to destroy any enemies that cross your path. The innovative auto-targeting system locks on to any enemies in your area and makes for some straightforward killing. However, don't think it's going to be easy, as you will have to dodge enemy gunfire at the same time.
Eventually, your character will use up his Energon supply and you will have to refuel by transforming into Beast mode. While in Beast mode you cannot attack, and your sole purpose is to find power-ups to restore your Energon. BEAST WARS offers 10 different transformers to choose from, each with their own traits.
You'll also have the chance to battle in four different environments, each having its own set of enemies. With 24 missions to play and eight bonus missions, you'll have plenty to keep you occupied.
Duke Nukem 3D for the Tiger Game.com is a handheld first-person shooter inspired by the PC version, though it is profoundly different from the original.
It plays more like a dungeon crawler rather than an FPS due to Game.Com's hardware limitations. The player can only move Duke forward, backwards, strafe left or right, one screen at a time. By pressing B or C the player can turn Duke to shoot left or right, but can't turn him to face that direction and move.
Aliens have landed in futuristic Los Angeles and it's up to the Duke to bring the pain and show them the door. After the initial entries of side-scrolling platform games, Duke Nukem 3D introduces a first-person perspective to the series and turns the game into a full-fledged shooter with 2.5D graphics.
Duke's arsenal includes pistols, pipe bombs, laser trip mines, Nordenfelt guns, a chain gun and various rocket launchers, but also his mighty foot to kick enemies. The game sports a high level of interactivity. Many objects in the environment can be broken or interacted with, such as pool tables, arcade machines, glass, light switches and security cameras. The protagonist is also able to hand strippers a dollars to have them remove their top.
Sengeki Striker (閃激ストライカー) is a vertically scrolling shooter created by Warashi and Kaneko for the arcade and released in 1997.
The scoring system of Sengeki Striker is not well-understood. It is known that destroying enemy ships so that the explosion takes out other enemies, and using the Gambits to destroy targets, are worth points.
Sengeki Striker bears some visual resemblance to Shienryu, a previous game by Warashi.
Flip, climb, hang, slide, blast, and fight through five multi-level 3D worlds. Rage up with unique rage meter. Powerful assault weapons. Vicious physical attack combos. Live or die by your state of rage.
X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse is a conversion of Quake. The evil mutant Apocalypse has created an army of evil X-men clones. The only thing standing in his way is you, a cyborg created by Magneto with the ability to morph your arms into a variety of devastating weapons.
In the single-player game, you battle clones of twelve X-Men across two episodes building up to a final confrontation with Apocalypse. The X-Men are realistically modeled complete with their mutant powers (the Wolverine clone, for example, will not stay down, imitating the original). In multiplayer game, you can take on the role of any of the X-Men for mutant deathmatch action in five original maps including the X-Men mansion.
