Players control a factory man sent to destroy toys who have gone berserk. Venturing through this factory, players will find toys of clowns, Pac-Man, and smiley faces.
Destroy all eggs! With that as your only instructions, you are thrown into a room filled with pterodactyl eggs. The controls are similar to many versions of Robotron, in that you shoot in whichever direction you are walking. The task of destroying the eggs seems easy until they begin to hatch. The new-born pterodactyls are not only lethal, but they lay more eggs, prolonging your misery. The game runs in black and white high resolution mode and uses small characters, only a character tall.
Humanity has lost control over Earth... Mutants that were created during previous conflicts have completely gotten out of control. Humans were forced to flee from the planet and watch from the Moon as their home was overrun by mutants and the ones who joined them.
Now, the situation has become even more dire. Unorganized mutant actions have became organized – someone or something named "Shrak" has united them and started rebuilding Earth as a gigantic military base. You were sent back to Earth in order to perform reconnaissance on "Shrak" and its army and report back. Except that your ship has crashed and will not be flying you back anytime soon.
X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse is a conversion of Quake. The evil mutant Apocalypse has created an army of evil X-men clones. The only thing standing in his way is you, a cyborg created by Magneto with the ability to morph your arms into a variety of devastating weapons.
In the single-player game, you battle clones of twelve X-Men across two episodes building up to a final confrontation with Apocalypse. The X-Men are realistically modeled complete with their mutant powers (the Wolverine clone, for example, will not stay down, imitating the original). In multiplayer game, you can take on the role of any of the X-Men for mutant deathmatch action in five original maps including the X-Men mansion.
