Hellfire: Reborn is a seven-level PWAD for Doom II and limit removing source ports, created by Shadowman and released on December 4, 2011. This mapset is a partial remake of the first set of maps from Shadowman's 2006 Hellfire, with layouts done from scratch but still closely following the originals, albeit without any of the Hell levels. It has cosmetic graphic replacements for the zombieman and for the Wolfenstein SS which is turned into a female marine zombie.

The secret levels were contributed by guest editors Brian Knox (Snakes) and Tango. It was uploaded on the /idgames archive on 11th November 2011, and was one of the recipients of the 18th Annual Cacowards.
Jenesis is a 2011 megawad for Doom II by James Paddock. It was one of the winners of Doomworld's Cacowards for 2011.
Jenesis' goal was to retain the classic feel of not just the original Doom and Final Doom games, but that of popular megawads like the Memento Mori duology, Hell Revealed, Alien Vendetta, Requiem and Scythe, and often to mesh these themes together to create nostalgic yet modern-looking maps.

Inspiration sources include Speed of Doom, Scythe 2, Alien Vendetta, and The Plutonia Experiment. It was originally meant to be a "32-level speedmapped megawad inspired by Speed of Doom's development cycle and Scythe 2's episodic structure."
