One of the first hospital management games. You hire staff, expand your hospital and advertise your services. But also take decisions on salary and how much medicine you prescribe to your patients. At times are prompted with text scenarios and have to decide how to handle them. It might be Yakuzas raiding the hospital, competing hospitals opening up, embezzling scandals etc.
A very early baseball management game. As the coach of the team you manage either the Saitama Seibu Lions or the Yomiuri Giants and make lineup decisions regarding the batting and fielding lineup. Once the game begins you watch a simulated game between the teams. The roster is based on the team roster of 1982.
A Space Invaders-like game where you control a missile platform and shoot down "Killer Stations" while avoiding their missiles. The bad guys have "Barrier Satellites" and "Space Mines" to try to block your missiles from hitting them. Try your best to get all the killer stations to win the round and progress.
You play as a shepherd who must gather sheep into the pen before nightfall so that he can go date his girlfriend. You catch the sheep by running into them and then dragging them to the pen. You can close the pen gate to stop sheep from escaping. But watch out for the wolves who will tear open the gates again.
The game was programmed by Kikuta Masaaki, notable for making the Hudson hit game Binary Land.
The game takes place inside a bacteria factory. You walk around and spray the various bacteria with yeast. That will turn them into white happy cloud-like bacteria. If you spray them again they will turn malevolent, so make sure not to overdo it! Move all the happy bacteria to the little bottle to clear the stage.
Much alike the Universal arcade game Space Panic. You control a character with a shovel and dig pits in hope that the aliens chasing you fall into them. When they do you need to hit the alien with your shovel to kill it.
In this simple riff on an arcade classic, released in 1983 for home microcomputers by famed game developer/publisher Ocean Software, guide a small frog across a busy road, then across logs floating in a river, to reach safety on the other side.
The pen-and-paper game Battleship gets another digital translation, which pits man against machine for a round of grid-based marine warfare. Both sides get five ships each - of varying sizes - and hide them within their respective game boards, invisible to the opponent. Each side then proceeds to fire in turn, by selecting a target grid position. When all the squares occupied by a ship are hit, it is sunk; the first player to destroy the entire enemy fleet will rule the waves.
A classic platform game. Our mission will be to destroy all the aliens before time runs out. To do this, Becky can make holes in the ground (except in the lower platform) as a trap to try to make enemies fall into them.
Pinball is a pinball simulation for one or two players. You begin the game with five balls, and need to score as many points as possible by hitting the ball into the various bumpers and targets on the pinball table. The pinball table consists of three different screens, each with a different layout and level of difficulty. To advance from one screen to the next, you need to use a single ball to hit several targets and then get the ball into a white cup that appears. If you are on the second or third screen and the ball falls off the bottom, you will be back to the lower screen; if the ball falls off the bottom screen you will lose that ball. The game ends when all five balls have been lost.
