Flood is a side-scrolling platformer in which the player takes control of Quiffy, a strange amphibious creature, on his quest to stop the flooding of his underground world. The gameplay is familiar (it is a platformer afterall), but there are some novel ideas, such as Quiffy's ability to cling to walls and ceilings.
Rescuing girlfriends is a pretty common challenge in older computer games - why can't any of these ladies look after themselves? On this occasion Pearly has been kidnapped by Fransz Dandruff, so better make sure he's hair today, gone tomorrow.
The gameplay is platform based, although the player may move down platforms as well as up to the next one. There are lots of baddies (drawn in a cutesy style) who need shooting and offer rewards. The seven levels are fairly short and linear.
The player configures each plane's loadout for your mission, plans the mission package, then fly your missions. The player's task is to configure the planes and to plan and execute each mission, commanding multiple sections of each plane.
In this third installment of the Dan Dare series, players control the titular hero as he escapes Treen captivity on a scientific satellite orbiting Venus. Dan must navigate five levels using teleporters, collect fuel cans for an escape shuttle, and battle Treen enemies with various weapons. The game features a mix of exploration, combat, and resource management, as Dan uses his jetpack to traverse the satellite while managing its limited fuel. Players can purchase weapons through computer terminals and must defeat the Mekon leader to gain access to teleporters. The ultimate goal is to fuel the escape shuttle and flee the Treen satellite.
Crime Wave is a side-scrolling shooter with certain similarities to Narc in tone and gameplay. Controlling a police officer, the player shoots his or her way through slums, inner cities, and other locations, trying to destroy a powerful criminal organization and save the President's gorgeous, young, and single daughter. The game features digitized graphics.
Cisco Heat is a racing game with a two-speed shifter and a chase view. Take on the role of an officer who must race his squad car through San Francisco in an attempt to win the first ever 'National Championship Police Car Steeplechase'. The roads have 90-degree turns, and it includes sights such as the famous trams and the Golden Gate Bridge. The player can pick from two police cars, one designed for power and another designed for handling.
A port of Chip's Challenge, originally for the Atari Lynx. In this strategy game, players of all ages will love the puzzle-solving challenges facing Chip as he must conquer 144 game levels in order to join Melinda's exclusive computer club, the Bit Busters.
Every level of Chip's Challenge represents a unique, timed, one-player puzzle. Solving a level invariably involves collecting microchips with available tools such as keys, magnets, shields, and cleats. Doors, traps, monsters, and other mischievous devices pose barriers, entice you into danger and complicate your progress. As each level is solved you are led into the next, slightly more difficult level.
The first eight levels are puzzles that introduce you to the game's basic concepts. You find your way through mazes, collect keys to open doors, teleport from place to place, pick-up tools, and use logic to conquer each puzzle.
The levels get progressively more formidable. You must pay attention to subtle hidden clues, learn how to evade many forms of disaster,
Initially the player chooses between playing as the prince or princess. The character not chosen is then taken away by a dragon to Castle Eternity. (The location of keys and some other items differ slightly between the two characters.)
The game requires the player, through a first person view, to explore Castle Eternity. There are riddles on many of the castle walls, which give gameplay hints. There are also keys and pentacles hidden in various locations for the player to collect. Many rooms contain spirits which attack the player and reduce his or her health. The player's health (represented by a barbell where weights indicate the amount) is also the player's strength which is important for some puzzles. The player's only weapon is an unlimited supply of rocks to throw, but a single hit is sufficient to exorcise most of the spirits. The ultimate goal is to kill the boss spirit Magister (who can only be killed when all other spirits in the castle are destroyed) and thereby rescue the character's opposite number.
Your task as Arnie is to visit all eight worlds featured within the 48 levels. You have to drive around turning Captain Grim's evil back into good. You must rescue your kidnapped friends, make all the worlds a happier place again and then go on to defeat Captain Grim at the end of the game.
