Kung-Fu Master, known in Japan as Spartan X, is a 1984 beat 'em up arcade game developed and published in Japan by Irem. It was later published in North America by Data East. The Japanese version was based on the Jackie Chan movie Wheels on Meals, known as Spartan X in Japan, and credited "Paragon Films Ltd., Towa Promotion", who produced the film upon which it was based. The game is considered by many to be the first beat 'em up video game, and contains elements of Bruce Lee's Game of Death.
In this unique shooter from 1984. take on the role of a pilot of an out-dated Cosmic Cruiser, fighting to rescue the crew of a distant space station that had been captured by a raiding party from the sinister Rallom Empire.
The object of the game is to place pieces so that they form a row of four. The row may be in any direction, may cross the 'planes' to produce a row which for example goes from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. Play can be for two players or one person against the computer. When play is against the computer, the machine will use a sophisticated, fast logic search to produce a superb mental challenge.
