This game is a port of Last Bronx. It is very similar to the arcade version, but features extra options.
These options differ from the extras seen in the Sega Saturn version though.
Hokuto no Ken is perhaps the most substantial upgrade in the Sega Ages 2500 series, being an remake of the 1986 Sega Mark III release of Hokuto no Ken (known as Black Belt in the west). It is presented entirely in 3D (though gameplay still takes place on a 2D plane). There are more moves and it is more closely linked to the anime.
OutRun is an upgrade of the 1986 arcade release of OutRun, presented entirely in 3D. Whereas the "original" mode is almost identical to the arcade game (with an option to switch between the slightly different Japanese and overseas courses), an "arrange" mode offers an entirely new course, rival cars and more mountainous terrain to take advantage of the 3D visuals. There is also an arranged soundtrack.
Alien Syndrome acts as a re-imagining of the 1987 arcade release of Alien Syndrome, with much darker visuals presented entirely in 3D.
Though it is a slower game, the player can take more than one hit and can fire in any direction using the right analogue stick (similar to Robotron 2084 or Smash T.V.). You can also rapid-fire in a single direction while moving in any direction.
This game is an upgrade of the original 1990 arcade release of Columns.
The games were released out of order for some reason — this one was released a few weeks before Volume 6, unless Sega, 3D-Ages, and SCEJ all accidentally switched the dates on both their websites.
This game include an "original mode" (which is practically identical to the arcade release) and an updated mode, sporting pre-rendered 2D graphics and various visual and audio upgrades. There is also a versus mode where you can play against the computer, otherwise it is not too dissimilar from the original version.
Gradius III and IV (released in Japan as Gradius III and IV: Fukkatsu no Shinwa) is a compilation title released in 2000 for the PlayStation 2. It contains Decathlete, Winter Heat and Virtua Athlete 2K, all sporting improved graphics and other minor adjustments. It's missing some features, such as the ability to create characters and the internet features of Virtua Athelete 2K, but it adds more computer players to Decathlete and changes some camera angles.
Monaco GP is a remake of the original 1979 arcade release of Monaco GP, sporting vastly updated graphics and audio. There is an "original" mode which mimicks the arcade game, and a "grand prix" mode which adds fifteen new courses, multiple camera viewpoints, powerups and a jump button. There are a number of other gameplay changes in this mode, and multiplayer support.
Kaezaru no Mori: The game is a horror adventure that begins in a small town high school when Tatsuya the main hero and his 2 friends decide to enter deep into the forest in the search of his missing classmate. But things won't be as easy as they though since they will find ghosts, corpses and other perils until they can survive that night.
The gameplay as in most visual novels in choosing one of the possible answers to advance, as a peculiar thing in some choices there is a time limit, but the game allows the player to use items to advance through the game, also there are choices that will leave to different endings, and the player's character can also die in most of them.
