Super Mario Land DX is a romhack of the original Super Mario Land for the Game Boy that turns the game into a Game Boy Color game. It adds color and changes the graphics to give the game a modern look.
Pokémon Perfect Crystal is an idealized definitive version of Pokemon Crystal that has every Pokemon available to catch and to fixes a number of glaring glitches that hampered the original game. It also restores the Celebi and GS Ball events, makes trade evolutions avalaible through evolution stones, makes TMs reusable, and changes opponents' levels to match Heartgold & SoulSilver.
A colorization hack for Metroid II: Return of Samus that also includes bug fixes and enhancements. The colorization was done by EJR Tairne with additional programming by Quantam.
Pokémon Red++ is a hack of Pokémon Red created by Mateo. The hack uses the Pokered Disassembly from the users at Skeetendo as a base. It is intended both as a Rombase for people who want an updated Red Version as a starting point (although admittedly, some of the features wouldn't appeal to all Gen 1 hackers it seems), and as a stand-alone game for people that want to relive the nostalgia of Gen 1 without some of the broken mechanics and with added features.
Cancelled science-fiction western themed First-Person Shooter for the Gameboy Colour, Originally developed by Slitherine. The rights and prototype were bought by retro indie publisher Piko Interactive, Who finished and released the game on boxed GBC cartridge.
A rom hack of Pokemon Gold released in 2018 by Hacker. It takes place in the Fornes region, which is basically just the Johto region but with city and character names swapped, and some of the maps having new tiles and minor changes to their layouts. It has some features that could make it be considered a "troll/joke hack", like entrances to buildings being different than what they say they are, those same entrances leading to new areas when you leave, purposefully poor grammar, and a higher difficulty overall. It could, however, also just be an earnest attempt at making a rom hack that was poorly done. It's hard to tell as information on this project is very hard to find.
You are a kid from Valencia Island who wants to become a Pokémon Master, after hearing about a kid the same age named Red defeating the Indigo League 6 months ago. You set out on a journey to deliver the mysterious GS Ball to the esteemed Samson Oak, who is visiting the Orange Islands from the Alola region and to take on the Orange Crew! Play as Indigo or Orange, explore, fight goofy villains and walk into a fresh and nostalgic world to learn more about the wonderful world of Pokémon and to Catch 'em All!
Super Mario Land 2 DX is a color hack for Super Mario Land 2 in the same vein as Link’s Awakening DX. It adds color, lets you play with Luigi (with different physics) and removes the lag.
An improved, polished version of Pokémon Crystal.
It fixes bugs, takes into account the official game changes since 2001, and adds some new ideas. Many features restore what was removed from R/B/Y, or original to HG/SS.
In Pokémon Bronze 2 you start as either a boy or a girl trainer in Old Oak Town with the goal of collecting all 8 badges and then defeating the Elite Four.
But along the way, an evil team is trying to execute their plan to steal, kidnap and make money.
It even includes a full second region with post game!
Once again, going for a completely run of the mill Pokemon story game that is sorely missing from many Pokemon rom hacks.
Pokemon Anniversary Crystal is an extensive ROM hack created for the second anniversary of the Twitch Plays Pokemon stream.
It contains a new storyline combining parts of Pokemon Red and Pokemon Crystal, with some new elements. The post-game Kanto portion of the original Crystal has been greatly expanded with new quests. The player is able to catch all 251 Pokemon as well.
The gameplay has also been revamped with elements from later games as well. Physical/Special damage split (with new moves from newer games), Fairy Type, Move Re-Learner, EXP for catching have been included. Original game bugs have been fixed, such as with specialty Poke balls.
Of note is that the game optionally includes an “Advanced AI” hack. However, this will require a special emulator setup to install, as it allows an external script to analyze the player and enemy data to pick smarter moves for the AI. As RHDN does not permit emulator-specific hacks, that variation of the patch will need to be download at the authors’ site, / . The

Pokémon Crystal Kaizo is a super-hard mode ROM hack of Pokémon Crystal and the official sequel of Pokemon Blue Kaizo. These titles were inspired by Kaizo Mario World, though the game's difficulty was inspired by Drayano 60's Firered Omega, as well as Pokémon Stadium.
New Awakening is a full hack of Link’s Awakening featuring broad revisions to all dungeons and textual edits, overworld edits, and sequence fixes to support a new dungeon order, as well as cosmetic edits to most dungeons and parts of the overworld. The difficulty is substantially increased, with new puzzles as well as new monster encounters, but backtracking is minimal, difficult puzzles offer subtle clues (the owl statues have been updated as well), extra resources are available where needed, and the challenges do not require save states or perfect gameplay. The game is balanced for those who have played the game once or twice, but the game is playable by newcomers as well, as the hack does not throw everything at the player at once. The difficulty begins fairly moderate and gradually increases over time. Necessary information is found in the readme. The patch is made with Lunar IPS.
This is a colorization hack of Pokemon Red, done entirely using ASM. It takes full advantage of Gameboy Color hardware, which is much more capable than the Super Gameboy. The overworld is fully and properly colorized, and with colorized attack sprites, even battles are more colorful!
In addition to color, Pokemon and Trainer sprites have been imported from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, and so has the battle HUD. If you don’t want this, the “vanilla” patch does not touch these.
This is essentially Master Quest for Link’s Awakening (DX). The dungeon maps are the same as in the original with different layouts, some minor modifications made to the overworld, some edited text for better or worse, and new uses for a few items not utilized in the original.
Metroid II DX is a mod that converts Metroid II to the Game Boy Color, now colorized. Not to be confused to the official Metroid II: Return of Samus DX, which was never released.
