Gameplay style is an unaudited presentation of Mario assessing & orienting 'framework gameplay' with dynamic simplicity.
This hack has 77 exits and was made by BabyCan.
This romhack was created to test the player’s skill, patience and reflexes. It presents challenges difficult enough that a standard player may struggle, but indicators throughout are in place to help guide you to the goal. It's difficulty is between kaizo beginner-intermediate and players can expect to beat it within 1-4 hours depending on skillset.
This hack makes use of some more complicated tech that may be unfamiliar to the casual player- blue coins are in place to indicate spin jumps and green coins indicate item throws (usually shells). Color palettes and graphic choices were carefully picked to match the setting and create a tone for each level. Every level’s soundtrack was also carefully selected in an effort to create a satisfying gameplay loop as the player grinds each of the 28 courses. The map is comprised of several different zones strung together to feel like a complete world. Levels do not have a difficulty curve as there are plenty of ‘palette cleansers’ throughout. Yuko Aso was an ordinary high school girl, but now she begins her journey as the new Warrior of Valis. Her duty is to defeat Rogles, the evil ruler of Vecanti and his 4 Vogue generals and retrieve the five shards of the Fantasm Jewel. The legend of the Warrior of Valis begins here.
From gameplay to visuals and sound, everything about this new “origin of Valis” is powered up from its original release.
Yuko Aso was once an ordinary high school girl. One fateful day, her destiny was forever changed when she was chosen by Valia, the queen of the Dreamland, to be the next Warrior of Valis. Meanwhile Rogles, the Dark King of Vecenti, began his cross-dimensional assault with his powerful Vogue generals at his command.
The MSX version contains only 5 stages due to space limitations, and while the story is not very deep since there are no animated cutscenes, the characters have good movement and it stands on its own as a pure side-scrolling action game that can be enjoyed even today.
The evil king Galgear and his generals have been resurrected after being sealed away for thousands of years and immediately begin their conquest of the human world and the Dreamland, currently ruled by Queen Valna.
With the Warrior of Valis Yuko now in the Heavens and unable to return to the other worlds, there is no one left to stand against Galgear. This is where the new protagonist Lena makes her appearance.
Just like in Valis III before it, players can swap between 3 playable characters at any time. With increased difficulty compared to the previous entries in the series, players have more ways than ever to enjoy clearing stages. The visuals in Valis IV, which includes animated cutscenes with Japanese voice acting that are an absolute must-see, are the best in the series.

The Sega Mega Drive/Genesis port of Valis III was released in March 1991 in Japan and later that year in North America. This version has most of the cinematic cutscenes removed. A remake of the original game released in 2005 by Bandai Networks in collaboration with developer R-Force Entertainment. It was released for Yahoo! Keitai-compatible mobile phones and published through SoftBank's S!Appli service.
The Mega Drive/Genesis remake exhibits a gameplay system more similar to later games in the Valis series, particularly Valis III. It has the same story and basic genre as the original first game in the series; however, it is a different game with different locations, enemies, bosses and new cutscenes.
Valis: The Fantasm Soldier is a side-scrolling platformer. Yuko can jump and attack enemies with her Valis sword, which can be upgraded and used as a ranged weapon by collecting power-ups found in the stages. She can also find and use items that grant her powerful all-screen attacks or temporary invincibility. Each stage culminates with a boss battle, after which Yuko's hit points and attributes increase.
This hack is Green Jerry’s first finished and released Kaizo hack.
It features 7 levels, each one with their own theme, and has only 1 route, so there are no secret exits.
