Sound Fantasy, titled Sound Factory during development, is an unreleased video game for the Super NES/Super Famicom. Designer Toshio Iwai was inspired by his earlier interactive installation art piece titled Music Insects, to develop a video game at Nintendo between 1993 and late 1994. The completed product was inexplicably canceled by Nintendo, and the game's key elements were later developed into Maxis's 1996 PC game release titled SimTunes.
Sound Fantasy contains eccentric concepts and untested game mechanics. Music games, especially on home consoles, were not popular in the early 1990s, and it wouldn't be until much later in the decade that they gained mainstream attention. The Sound Fantasy prototype contains four different games in one cartridge.
Pix Quartet was inspired by Toshio Iwai's Music Insects. There are four insects of different colors, where the player can select different insect to each represent a different instrument. They crawl all over the screen, where the player can draw. Insects that crawl
Melody Master is a fantastic cartridge that, when used in conjunction with your Vectrex light pen, introduces you to the exciting world of music. It allows you to compose your own melodies and even has the capability to play flute and piano harmony with rhythm sections of snare and cymbals.
You can create your own electronic musical masterpiece and amaze your friends that this interactive cartridge in a quarter century old gaming system allowed you to compose it.
There is also a tutorial program for those of us who are not musically inclined. The "Songman" teaches you to recognize notes and identify other concepts of musical notation. It is a true interactive educational and creative experience.
In my opinion, the feel of this cartridge rates 9-10, controls 7-10, and overall 8-10. It is a fun software title to sink hours of creative fun into on your Vectrex.
With this cartridge, the Odyssey 2 can play music thanks to the 3 stored tunes. The user can of course play its own music and record it. This introduction to computer music do not stop here: the user can play with tunes, modifying note duration, for example. The cartridge also provides training through a musical dictation feature.
A music game developed by Konami for the Famicom Disk System and published in late 1987. Like a few other music games of its kind, it comes complete with a digital keyboard which connects to the Famicom for the purpose of composing and playing music. The inclusion of a large keyboard with the game makes Doremikko the most expensive Famicom Disk System title at the time of its original sale.
The name is a play on the Do Re Mi scale.

JUKEBOX is a musical strategy game that's kind of a cross between a chess match and a dance contest. During the game the jukebox plays lots of terrific songs—songs so good you never want them to stop. But to keep the music playing. you've got to create gold records. Use your dancing shoes to jump from square to square. creating hit records as you go. The more gold records you get, the more coins you earn. Use the coins to keep the music bopping and the game from stowing. And not only is JUKEBOX fun to play. it's also a challenging learning game. By studying the size and configuration of records. players develop strategies to avoid being trapped. Memory and concentration skills are tested as players plan their moves from square to square. And by recognizing patterns. players sharpen their prediction skills. All together. JUKEBOX is an exciting challenge with plenty of fun for young and old alike.
Brain Strainers is a collection of two separate games/learning tools.
The first game is "Follow The Leader" where a pattern is repeated using a 4-color circle. By keeping track of either the tones generated or the colors flashing, the player can copy the sequence to continue. Higher difficulties increase speed and allow only tone identification of sequences. Additionally it keeps track of your best number of correct identifications in a row.
The second game is "Clef Climber" where the player is given a tone that corresponds to a certain musical note and must match the note being played. Lower difficulties provide a constant tone to refer to and visual help on the note being used. Higher difficulties provide a single playing of the tone and no visual help.
For use with Amiga's Joyboard controller. A prototype game that was mass produced! It seems that Amiga sent these carts off to a company that handled the task of labeling them. During this time Amiga was in trouble and the games never got labeled or retrieved by Amiga. Years later they were sold off as scrap to a videogame dealer who added his own label and sold them to the classic community. Gameplay is similar to the handheld game, Simon.
