Tatacon de Dodon ga Don was the first Taiko no Tatsujin game to be released on the PlayStation 2, the first console to feature Taiko games. All the first-run copies of the game came with a Tatacon, a small plastic drum which is identical in functionality to the bigger arcade drums. As for the future console Taiko titles, the game can also be played with buttons as the alternative control scheme.
Due to the first arcade versions relying on the PS1-grade Namco System 10 board, the game has PS1-grade graphics and longer load times in order to reproduce a good arcade fidelity. For the same reason, the arcade-styled Arcade mode (together with unique ending/Game Over sequences) was ported for the game, together with the (then popular) Battle mode. Arcade mode is also the staple for unlocking secret tracks, for this and the next 3 console games.

Movies are now displayed in a little box with generic animations from the series playing. Only a few songs have unique clips. The miss animations are missing because of this as well.
Detailed judgement information is now present on the side of play, like the one you could enable in 7thMIX. Stealth was added as a modifier.

It's a dark and stormy night when Mickey and friends drop in at a haunted house looking for directions; the front door slams shut, locking the group in, and the five of them spread out to search the house for keys. The house is haunted by three friendly ghosts that only Pluto and the player can see; Shaky, Quaky and Clyde, who assist the group by making keys available as Mickey and pals solve six puzzles.
Silverware dances, a stuffed bear yawns and stretches, spiders scurry about as the player clicks on items in the six rooms; often two characters will converge in a room and hold a short conversation while the player is idle. Gameplay uses the mouse; to move from room to room the player clicks where the cursor becomes an arrow - at the edge of the screen, on the staircase and the secret passageway.

You walk around on a little stage with your character. As the music plays, markers pop up on the stage that expand in sync with the music. You have to hit those markers at the right time. This will trigger an instrument or jingle of the music (and give you points). Each characters has special abilities - some of them for example can move the markers to get them closer (or out of reach of the opponents). All characters can use a pitch-bend to change the tone of a triggered jingle for extra fun.

Martial Beat is a game created by Konami for the arcade and PlayStation in Japan in 2002. It is based on the players' actions by use of wristband sensors. The game was shipped in a modified Dance Dance Revolution cabinet, with the sensors and the game's art on it. Although there are two sets of selection buttons (as Dance Dance Revolution supported two players), the game is one player only. To play the game, one needs to follow the on-screen instructor, and when a red light turns on located on top of the screen, the player must perform the move by repeating the instructor.

7thMIX allow the player to have separate lanes for the two black keys. Instead of in between the lanes of the white keys. This makes the lanes much closer to the beatmania IIDX series. 1-Turn scratches are introduces, where you need to turn the turntable exactly once to get the best score.
MANIAC has been renamed back to ANOTHER again. All singles and double charts has been re-rated and for the first time in the series the rate for the single chart and the double chart are rated separately.
The game has 27 songs returning from 6thMIX and introduced an additional 32 songs for a total of 59 songs.
[Unreleased 1983] Maneuver down an abstract tunnel of colored light without crashing. Succeed and go on to a musical memory game: notes are randomly played that you must then play back using the hand controller keypad. Score points for how quickly you duplicate the series of notes. Then its back into the tunnel and on to a longer series of notes in the memory game.
Russ Lieblich did the sounds and music for a number of games at Mattel Electronics (including Snafu) before going to Activision where he designed this game. Peter Kaminski, who programmed River Raid, helped Russ with the programming. It was finally released on the Intellivision Rocks! CD.
