Aro & Elmi is a German arcade action platform game that teaches kids the importance of brushing your teeth. The two main characters, Aro & Elmi, represent two types of toothpaste produced by Wybert, the company that commissioned this promotional game. The levels are split into "Gum World" and "Tooth World", as the two toothpaste types are specifically intended for intense gum and tooth care, respectively. Each of the characters has two objectives: collect food debris and destroy the harmful bacteria that run around the mouth by hurling droplets of toothpaste at them. This ammo is limited, but you can increase it if you find extra toothpaste tubes of matching colour. Also watch out for secrets and bonus tooth care gel tubes that can be found in levels, often in secret places. The game is made on a very professional level, with cartoon-like pre-rendered sprites for the characters and the bacteria that look like characters from a kids' TV show. Nirvana X-ROM is the companion game to the Italian SciFi film Nirvana directed by Gabriele Salvatores. It is set after the events of the film: VR game developer Jimi Dini has wiped the source code of his latest game Nirvana, thus releasing its protagonist Solo from his virtual prison. However, portions of the game still survive in Jimi's archives, creating a potential risk of Nirvana being re-assembled. The player is called upon to investigate Jimi's house and archives in search for the lingering game code and destroy it. The gameplay is a mixture of puzzle-solving and exploration viewed from the player's perspective. The location view can be freely rotated by moving the mouse and several objects are clickable, often giving access to secret rooms. The bottom bar icons offer several actions such as using scanners, connecting to the network and communicating with the artificial intelligence that powers Jimi's house. "The Trouble With Trolls" - or at least so my old Mum used to keep telling me - was that they simply never knew when to give up. If they found themselves faced with a plateful of best, prime quality "deviled orc's eyes" then they would just sit there and eat them all until they were sick. Or else they would do battle with their strongest enemies until neither of them were capable of swinging another blow. Worse still, they held on to their gold with a grip that few could break and had even been known to lay down their very life to protect it or to take yours in the process!!! As for getting them to part with treasure such as diamonds and pearls that was almost a task beyond the talents of even the most ardent of the adventurers that chose to undertake it.
