X-Men: The Official Game is derived from the storyline of the third X-Men film. In this game, players have the option to control characters such as Wolverine, Colossus, Iceman, or Nightcrawler as they navigate through twenty-five stages in a traditional side-scrolling beat-'em-up format. The objective is typically to locate the exit within each level, which can involve scrolling from left to right, top to bottom, or navigating labyrinth-like designs. Enemies are defeated using various punches, and each character differs in their attack range and damage output. Additionally, each character possesses a unique special attack and individual abilities. For instance, Colossus can smash specific materials, and Wolverine gradually regenerates health over time.
Initially starting as Wolverine, players later gain the ability to switch between characters at any point in the game. Each X-Man also has a power bar, replenished by collecting blue symbols, which can be utilized to temporarily increase the damage dealt during game

Devil Kings is in the same vein as the Dynasty Warriors series. The story takes place as the Devil King, a king possessed by the soul of the Devil, has unleashed an unholy army on the world to bend it to his will as the player must stop him along with many of his minions including his wife Lady Butterfly, his general the Red Minotaur, as well as loyal assassins Scorpio and Venus.
The gameplay is more arcade hack-and-slash style, with the ability of using magic spells to wipe out entire waves of enemies and as mentioned before, the ability to use modern day weapons along with historical weapons such as spears, swords among others. Players receive these weapons by encountering each Mii, with some Miis offering to team up and fight alongside the player. If the player takes too much damage, they will lose their current weapon, and the level ends if the player loses all of their weapons or fail the main objective (the player has three chances to attempt each level per session). Clearing various criteria, such as beating a level within a time limit, earns medals, with additional levels unlocked after obtaining enough medals.
