The play field is covered with colored tiles. When tiles of the same color are touching, they are grouped and can be eliminated from the field by clicking them. The other pieces on the screen fall into the holes left by the removed pieces which changes the layout of the play field. That is where the strategy comes in. Thy Flesh turned into a draft-excluder is a limit-removing episode 4 replacement for Ultimate Doom by Matt Powell (cannonball). The title is a reference to "Thy Flesh Consumed," the original fourth episode which the WAD replaces. The WAD is sometimes considered an extension of ConC.E.R.N.ed, Powell's earlier Ultimate Doom three-episode megawad, though this has never been properly confirmed. The episode is intended to be difficult, in keeping with the original episode 4.
