Real Time Strategy (RTS) Simulator Strategy
    DOS
Great Naval Battles IV Burning Steel expands the scope of SSI’s line of naval simulators to include World War II naval actions in many of the theaters that saw the shadow of the battle wagon. From the frigid Barents Sea to the balmy Mediterranean, the North Atlantic and the English Channel, the Allies can be pitted against Axis forces in one-day battle scenarios or longer campaigns. The Axis forces include the German, Italian and French navies, while U. S., British, and Soviet ships are available on the Allied side. More than fourteen major engagements are featured, including the Battle of the Denmark Straits, Atlantic Convoy Run, and Bismarck and Prinz Eugen versus the Hood and Prince of Wales of the Royal Navy. In addition, over 100 random scenarios for either surface or carrier actions can now be fought. The player has a choice of difficulty levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert. The higher the level, the more the computer opponent receives an advantage in material, rate of fire, and accuracy.

    Sid & Al's Incredible Toons

    1993

    Puzzle
    DOS
Sid & Al's Incredible Toons is a spin-off of The Incredible Machine series. It features cartoon characters and items instead of pseudo-realistic contraptions, but the goal is the same: to build hilarious machines reminiscent of the pictures of Rube Goldberg. Sid Mouse and Al E. Cat have probably never heard of Tom & Jerry, but they’re just as single-minded: any means to hurt the adversary is a good one. They get plenty of means in Incredible Toons. Around 100 puzzles need to be solved, each one a 2D machine of which crucial parts are missing. The player's task is to choose useful objects from a separate window, position them on the screen and start the machine to see if it’s working. A simple example: a piano hanging from a rope needs to be dropped on Al. To accomplish this, you place open scissors next to the cable and drop a ball on them - voila, the rope is cut, Al crushed. However, most puzzles are far more complicated; for example, the player might first have to lure Al under the piano with a fish, whic

However, your ninja also has magic powers. He can spend this magical energy to toss magical projectiles at the enemies, or to restore his health. Depleted magical energy can be refilled by collecting golden spheres scattered throughout the levels.

    Conquest Earth: First Encounter

    1997

    Strategy
    DOS
This RTS (real-time strategy) game tells the story of a futuristic war between the humans and the inhabitants of Jupiter (Jovians). The player can choose to command the armies of either side. Humans and Jovians have different menu layouts and tactics which they can employ for offensive and defensive actions. Also, the Jovians must deal with the atmosphere of the Earth, which obstructs their view, by using special troops; the humans also face a problem in the sulphur shrouds of Jupiter. The game implements its own view system for battles. Some may know it from their TV's - there's a picture-in-picture option to view 3 different locations at the same time. You can choose from two modes of play, normal RTS, or a more complicated variant which is just playable if you're confident with the manual.
