On May 6, 2014, it was released under the working title of "Project736T", and on May 29, the original project name, "Beatcraft Cyclon", was revealed. Participating composers were NieN, Paul Bazooka, Mr. Funky, ND Lee, PlanetBoom, Electronic Boutique, 3rd Coast, Makou, Nauts, and other artists who had previously submitted songs to the DJMAX series. Also, Takahiro Eguchi, a composer and BMS producer belonging to Super Sweep/Nano Sounds, participated as a new artist. According to the phrase 'ARCADE THE FIRST' in the PV, it was first released as an arcade.
