Arm Joe, also known as ArmJoe, is a fighting game based on the novel and musical Les Misérables, made in a fighting game engine maker by ASCII: "Tsukuru" series "Fighter Maker", by Takase, who also made the game Dot Fighters. There are ten characters to choose from, and they fight each other one on one, using the formula Street Fighter and Street Fighter 2 established. Characters are mostly characters from Les Misérables. Each character has special moves inspired by that character's role in the story. There's a special condition where characters are about to die (their health draining away) in which they are much more powerful and have infinite special power: the opponent has to avoid those special attacks until that character dies. This sometimes gives the advantage to players who reach low life first. In this high-speed action space shoot-em-up, you're Max Dellamorte, a bounty hunter, passing through the Auburn Planetary System. Virtua Fighter 2 was full of many brand new gameplay elements implemented into the realistic fighting engine of the first Virtua Fighter. The Virtua Fighter series has been heralded before as the fighting game with most involving gameplay. In Fighters Megamix, another game has been added, a game called Fighting Vipers. Fighting Vipers has drastically different gameplay than the more popular Virtua Fighter 2. Instead of being sophisticated, Fighting Vipers is simplified to appeal to a wider audience of video gamers and was meant for "casual" gamers. Mixing a simplistic video game and a sophisticated video game must have been difficult. But Fighters Megamix manages to do so by offering many options. The most important option available is the choice of having Fighters Megamix run under the Fighting Vipers style of gameplay or the Virtua Fighter 2 style of gameplay. You play as Joe Chip, a specialist used to train, equip and lead a combat squad of selected individuals (with several skills including weapon and PSI skills) into missions against the Hollis Corporation and to protect companies against industrial spying from other companies Joe Chip works for a company called Runciter Associates in Los Angeles. The game was released on 3 CDs on the Sony Playstation and Windows platform. The game was not a significant commercial success, failing to achieve expected sales by the company.
