Dream researcher Paprika - whose real identity is Dr. Atsuko Chiba, a psychotherapist - begins experiencing vivid, unsettling nightmares. These visions include a ruined Tokyo, her former colleague transformed into the demon Amon, the enigmatic entity Philemon, and the mysterious Velvet Room.
