Moto Rush GT

A fast-paced game about riding a motorbike and avoiding traffic.

Gameplay

In Moto Rush GT the players ride a motorbike along a busy road or a street. They control the forward speed of the vehicle and change lanes, but cannot turn. They can also perform a wheelie, which might either improve the score or be required for the level’s objective - however, it removes the ability to move sideways while also limiting vision.

The player can easily crash by colliding with an obstacle at high enough speed. These are either roadblocks or cars - the latter being much more common. In most levels crashing won’t end the run, but it will require the player to build up speed again, costing time. However passing near cars counts as a “near miss”, which gives score and can be turned into a combo if performed in quick succession - increasing score even further.

The traffic on the road can flow either in one direction, or in two - depending on the level. If two-way traffic is present, the lane on the left has cars driving in an opposite direction than the player’s.

Depending on the game mode and the level the player has various objectives to complete. These might include:

  • Driving certain distance within the time limit
  • Driving certain distance on the opposite lane
  • Performing certain amount of “near misses” within the time limit
  • Performing stunts (the wheelie) for a required amount of time
  • Catching up to the ghost bike driver
  • Driving through checkpoints within the time limit, gaining extra time at checkpoints
  • Competing against a set of results on the level in a series of runs

Meta-game

There are two means of progression in Moto Rush GT: experience and money. Both are earned through gameplay in all game modes.

Experience increases the player's level, which is required at various points in the game to unlock more content. This includes unlocking new bikes for purchase.

Money allows buying new bikes and upgrading them. Each bike has three stats: power, handling and brakes. Depending on the bike they have certain minimum values as well as maximums to which they can be increased by spending more money. Each bike in the game has its own unique model. Depending on the shape of the bike it might impair vision when performing a wheelie.

Presentation
