World's End Club

World's End Club

An action adventure game written and directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi where elementary school students must work together in order to survive a "death game."

Overview

World's End Club (ワールズエンドクラブ) is an action adventure puzzle game about a group of 12 kids that are forced to play a death game orchestrated by a mysterious clown. The title was developed between Grounding Inc and Too Kyo Games with the game being directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi and Kazutaka Kodaka, the creators of Zero Escape and Danganronpa respectively.

Initially announced in 2018 as "Death March Club," the game was first released worldwide as an Apple Arcade title by Izanagi Games on September 4, 2020. The Apple release ended initially on a cliff hanger, only containing the first half of the game's story. However, a Nintendo Switch port was later published in May 2021 that featured the full version of the game with a proper ending and an English dub where the initial release only had Japanese audio. The Apple Arcade version was also updated at the same time to include the same content. A few months later in November, a PC version was released on Steam as well.

Story

Following what appears to be an apocalyptic meteorfall event during a field trip, a group of Japanese elementary students are forced into playing a killing game against each other in an abandoned aquarium park. After surviving the ordeal with everybody alive, they soon discover that they are miles from home in an abandoned world.
