Convoy

Convoy

Convoy is a game in which the player needs to explore a desert world to find parts to repair their spaceship. On the journey, the player will encounter random events which may lead to combat. Combat plays out as a tactical, top-down car chase.

Convoy is a post-apocalyptic vehicular combat game with a close resemblance to FTL. In it, you travel across a randomly-generated desert planet, gathering the parts needed to repair your ship from the (usually) hostile locals. Like FTL, combat takes place in a top-down view, and orders can be given while paused. However, instead of maneuvering crewmates around a ship, you're moving cars around a speeding battle.

Vehicles can shoot anyone that's within their weapon range and they have clear line-of-sight to. Thus, you can use vehicles to shield other vehicles from attacks. Vehicles have HP and Armor; when their HP reaches 0, they blow up, while Armor reduces their damage taken by a % amount. Some weapons can reduce Armor as well as HP. As you speed along, you pass by wrecks, mines, and walls, all of which can damage or outright kill vehicles. Your vehicles can ram enemy vehicles to shove them into the path of an obstacle.

The red skulls warn you of obstacles that will destroy any vehicle that crashes into them.

Your escort vehicles have weapon slots and utility slots. Weapons include missile launchers, miniguns, plasma blasters, and chainsaws for ramming, while utility slots are used for shields, targeting computers, and force fields that negate all damage from ramming. Your vehicles' HP, Armor, targeting range, and maneuverability can also be upgraded.
