Overview
Endless Legend is a 4X strategy game developed by Amplitude Studios and published by Iceberg Interactive for Mac and PC.
Takes place in the same "Endless" universe as Endless Space and Dungeon of the Endless. The planet on which the game takes place, Auriga, is the same planet featured in Dungeon of the Endless.
About
Another sunrise, another day of toil. Food must be grown, industries built, science and magic advanced, and wealth collected. Urgency drives these simple efforts, however, for the planet holds a history of unexplained apocalypse, and the winter just survived was the worst on record. A fact that has also been true for the previous five.
As the player discovers the lost secrets of the world and the mysteries of the legends and ruins that exist as much in reality as in rumor, players will come to see that they are not alone. Other people also struggle to survive, to grow, and perhaps even to conquer.
Players have a city, a loyal populace, and a few troops; Their power and magic should be sufficient to keep them alive.
Factions
The game features 9 unique factions representing different play styles and victory priorities.
The Vaulters
The Vaulters are the descendents of the crew of a crashed spacecraft. Having lived underground for generations, circumstances forced them above ground and they now seek to grow and return to the stars . This faction can select a strategic resource boost to exploit map resources. Units can teleport to other cities
(The Mezaris, a DLC faction, are functionally similar to the Vaulters)
The Wild Walkers
The Wild Walkers are en elven faction who once thrived in heavily forested communities and were able to communicate with wild species. This faction can see armies in home and neighboring provinces and have an industry boost in forests.
The Cultists
This faction consists of remaining androids who once served the Endless. This faction can only have one city on the map, and is favored by 4x strategy players who like to play "tall". They are able to convert minor villages across the map, even in occupied provinces.
The Argent Mages
This faction uses powerful magic to erect pillars through the map. Units in combat will inflict more damage the more they themselves are damaged.
The Roving Clans
The roving clans are a nomadic faction that rely on trade. They are unable to declare war on other factions, but can embargo others from trading in the marketplace. This faction's cities are able to uproot and relocate across the map
The Drakken
The Drakken are an ancient and wise reptilian race. Their faction has powerful diplomatic options, powerful units, and can see other factions' capitals from the beginning of the game.
The Broken Lords
The Broken Lords are disembodied spirits living in powerful armor. While they live by a code of honor, their need to steal life force from others to survive poses a moral dilemma for their society. This faction doesn't rely on food to grow, but relies on Dust, the main currency for other factions in the game.
The Necrophages
The Necrophages are a parasitic insectoid race that only live to feed and grow their population. They require consistent conflict to grow their empire and their diplomatic options are limited.
The Forgotten
Introduced in the Shadows DLC, The Forgotten are a humanoid faction that uses espionage and subterfuge to their advantage. They are distrustful of science and thus cannot research new technologies, instead having to trade with or spy on other factions.
The Allayi
Introduced in the Shifters DLC, The Allayi are a race native to Auriga and served as a protector of Auriga. Their strengths and weaknesses change with the seasons, being more defensive in Summer and aggressive in Winter.
