Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

Overview

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a cooperative game where 1 to 4 players work together to pilot a ship through space, manning the ship's various stations to steer, move, defend, and attack enemies.

Gameplay

The story mode sees a player and up to 3 friends travelling across 4 constellations, each with 4 levels and a boss at the end. Players move around inside of their ship and can take control of one of a number of stations, including a propulsion system, a shield, a Yamato cannon, a map, and weapon turrets. Working together to navigate through 2-D space, players aim to find at least 5 of the 10 locked up bunnies scattered across a level who can open up the exits to each level.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime gives players options to upgrade the various systems on board the ship. As they navigate space, the lovers will acquire gems that can be added to the systems. Giving a power gem to a turret will allow it to shoot faster, while adding a metal gem to the shield will turn it from an electric shield to a heavier, slower, more powerful metal shield. By collecting the bunnies in levels, players can level up and increase the number of gems that can be slotted into any single station. Having multiple slots available allows players to mix and match the gems used, like placing a beam gem and a power gem on a turret to turn it into a rapid-firing laser turret.

Story

As Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime would have it, the entire universe was powered solely by love. Unfortunately, due to a malfunction, anti-love seeped into the universe, and from it sprang monsters who began to wreak destruction. As a last hope, a few remaining lovers man a spaceship, aiming to rescue the bunnies and restore peace and love.
