Mega Man Universe

Mega Man Universe is the cancelled Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network game that would have been a 2D platformer that emphasized stage creation and bringing the old school and new school together.

Overview

Mega Man Universe was a platforming game similar to LittleBigPlanet but with the signature Mega Man gameplay and a more action oriented focus Capcom developed for Xbox Live and PSN. Players were expected to be able to travel through various worlds based around classic games as several different famous Capcom characters.

In addition to pre-made levels, player were also to be able to create their own using an in game editor wherein various platforms and objects could be placed on a grid layout. Players would then be able to upload their levels or download those made by other players.
 
On March 31, 2011, Capcom Japan announced that the game had been cancelled due to "various circumstances."

Characters

These Characters had been confirmed by Keiji Inafune to be in Mega Man Universe, each with their own unique play style.
 
In addition to these characters, players were to be able to mix and match the body parts of these characters with parts from various other characters like Mets to create brand new characters with play styles that are a combination of whatever characters their new creation is made up of. They were also to be able to choose a special weapon, chip, and item payload for their character.
