NFL's Greatest: San Francisco Vs. Dallas 1978-1993 is a football game released exclusively on the North American Sega CD. Unlike other football games for Sega CD and Genesis, it has players take on a strictly managerial role as they choose plays and passively watch the results of their decisions. Each of these results are depicted in full motion video format, clipped from fifteen years of televized games between the two titular teams of the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.
The game released around the same time as Sega's Joe Montana's NFL Football, also for Sega CD, which was a much more traditional football video game.
