Overview

Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure! is a puzzle-platformer developed by Taito and published digitally by both Taito (in Japan) and Square Enix (overseas) for the Wii in Japan (on March 3, 2009), Europe (on May 8, 2009), and North America (on June 15, 2009).

A remake of the 1987 arcade game Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, players control human kids Bub and Bob as they use their rainbow magic to climb upward to the top of the Rainbow Tower have their wish granted while avoiding the machines of the nefarious Dr. Crescent. Along with the standard story mode (which can be played with two players), the game includes bonus Time Attack and Challenge modes.

It was later ported to the Xbox 360 (as an Xbox Live Arcade title) on October 28, 2009, adding Xbox Avatar support and online Versus multiplayer (via Xbox Live).
