Sengoku Basara X

Sengoku Basara X

A fighting game spin-off of Capcom's Sengoku Basara series of games, from the studio behind the Guilty Gear series.

Sengoku Basara X (also known as Sengoku BASARA X (Cross), or Sengoku Basara Cross) is a 2D historical-fantasy fighting game developed by Arc System Works and released by Capcom for arcades (using PS2-based Namco System 246 hardware) exclusively in Japan on April 2008.

It is a traditional fighting game spin-off of Capcom's Sengoku Basara hack-and-slash series set in the Sengoku (or "Warring States") period, featuring stylized versions of real-life warlords from the period.

The game looks and plays similar to other Arc System Works fighting games, namely Guilty Gear XX Λ Core and Fist of the North Star, with large hand-drawn graphics and combo-heavy gameplay. Some gameplay features of the game include dedicated assist characters (Engun, or "reinforcement") for each playable character and special one-hit-kill techniques (known as Ichigeki-BASARA-waza, or "Blow BASARA Technique").

The game was also ported to the PlayStation 2, exclusively in both Japan and Korea, on June 26, 2008.

The original version of the game includes 10 playable characters from the series. Two assist characters were made playable in the PS2 version (with their corresponding character as assists).
