F-15 Strike Eagle II

F-15 Strike Eagle II

F-15 Strike Eagle II is a 1991 flight simulator from MicroProse.

Overview

F-15 Strike Eagle II is a sequel to the flight simulation game F-15 Strike Eagle and simulates flying combat missions in the F-15 fighter jet. The PC version features 16-color EGA graphics, and the X68000 version features 256-color graphics (which can optionally be lowered to 16 colors). It also received a Mega Drive port, and was the only game in the F-15 Strike Eagle franchise to do so.

Missions involve destroying ground targets with Maverick missiles or dogfighting MiGs with the machine gun and Sidewinder missiles. The missions in the game are largely inspired by the Gulf War, though some are fictional "what ifs" like a Vietnam War scenario set in the '80s or a battle set during an all-out war with the Soviets as depicted in Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising.
