Overview

Sakura Taisen: Atsuki Chishio Ni ("Sakura Wars: In Hot Blood") is a remake of the original Sakura Taisen that was developed by Sega and Overworks for the PlayStation 2 in 2003.

Atsuki Chishio Ni features several gameplay and presentation improvements that were introduced in the Dreamcast sequels.

In terms of presentation, Atsuki Chishio Ni features new 3D graphics, completely redrawn 2D artwork, newly recorded dialogue by the original cast and additional cut-scenes animated by Production I.G. The remake replaces the grid-based battles from the original Sakura Taisen with the Active Real-Time Machine System (ARMS) from Sakura Taisen 3 and 4.The Adventure mode also includes a wider spectrum of LIPS interactions such as Analog LIPS where the player can use the analog stick to raise or lower a gauge to determine the forcefulness of Ogami's responses. Finally Atsuki Chishio Ni's story includes two new episodes which spotlight characters that were less developed in the original.
