Overview

World Heroes Perfect is a 2D fighting game developed and released by ADK (in conjunction with SNK) for arcades (running Neo Geo MVS hardware) on May 25, 1995.
It is the fourth and final game in the World Heroes series, pitting the contestants from the previous games in a tournament throughout various different time periods (from the Earth's beginning to modern-day Japan). It includes a revamped control scheme (replacing the pressure-sensitive two-button attack system with a traditional four-button attack system) and new gameplay mechanics (including the "ABC special ability" system, where pressing A+B+C gives them a unique character-specific tactical ability, super moves that can be done when the player's lifebar is drained, and a Hero Gauge that adds new moves and abilities when it is filled).
Along with a release for the Neo Geo AES (on June 30, 1995), the game was ported to the Neo Geo CD (complete with an arranged soundtrack) worldwide on July 21, 1995. It is the only Neo Geo CD port of the series to be released outside of Japan. The Neo Geo CD port was also used as the basis for the Sega Saturn port, released exclusively in Japan on August 9, 1996. The original version was also digitally re-released for the Wii (via Virtual Console) by D4 Enterprise on July 26, 2012, and for the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017 (as a launch title) by HAMSTER as part of the Arcade Archives series. It was also included in the 2008 World Heroes Anthology compilation for the PlayStation 2.
